Pecans are one of the favorite nuts among all. Not only they’re rich in the mentioned nutrients, but pecans are also rich in “good” monounsaturated fat with zero cholesterol. And compared to other nuts, pecans are among the lowest in carbohydrates and highest in dietary fiber.
So, what is a serving of pecans?
A one-ounce serving of pecans (approximately 20 halves) contains 196 calories, 20.4 grams total fat (1.8 saturated fat), 0 mg cholesterol, 0 grams sodium, 2.7 grams dietary fiber and over 19 vitamins and minerals including vitamin A, vitamin E, calcium, potassium, and zinc. Pecans are also a good source of oleic acid, vitamin B1, thiamine, magnesium, and protein.
A serving of pecans a day can help you with weight loss, reducing the risk of heart diseases and bone health! Pecans may have many health benefits, but if you have a tree allergy, you should avoid pecans or foods made of pecans until you are sure they are safe for you.
