10 Foods That Are Good for Your Liver

The liver is the powerhouse in our body, it removes toxins from the body's blood supply, maintains healthy blood sugar levels, regulates blood clotting, and performs hundreds of other vital functions. Hence, it is important to maintain a healthy liver for overall well-being.

1. Coffee

Coffee increases glutathione, an antioxidant in the liver, all while reducing inflammation. It also helps to lower the risk of developing liver disease, cancer, and fatty liver.

2. Tea

Green tea may help to improve enzyme and fat levels in the liver. While drinking green tea is considered safe for most people, in rare cases, green tea extract supplements have been linked to acute liver injury. 

3. Grapes

Especially red and purple grapes contain a variety of beneficial plant compounds. The most famous one is the Resveratrol supplement. It can help in lowering inflammation, preventing liver damage, and increasing antioxidant levels.

4. Prickly Pear
